Is Magnet Therapy officially recognised?
Magnetic therapy is widely accepted in Germany, France, Britain, India, Japan, Italy, Israel and many 45 other countries throughout the world.
Most of these national health systems officially recognise magnet therapy as a viable and realtively cheap treatment option for pain relief and faster recovery after injury and surgery. (The NHS in Britain is the most recent to begin allowing doctors to prescribe magnetic knee supports to heal and prevent leg injuries)
In the USA, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) classifies magnetic therapy as a form of Energy Medicine.
The NCCAM officially says "Static magnets have been used for centuries in efforts to relieve pain. Numerous anecdotal reports have indicated that individuals have experienced significant, and at times dramatic, relief of pain after the application of static magnets over a painful area."
The NCCAM has also provided financial grants to fund research into the effects of magnetic fields. Most recently, long-term studies conducted at the University of Virginia have provided proof that magnetic fields increase blood circulation.
